Trudi Grant says that although hospital admissions of people with Covid have decreased locally, South Somerset, in particular, remains a hotspot for contracting the infection.
It’s claimed building a new McDonald's drive-thru near Ilminster would create up to 65 jobs. McDonald’s wants to build the outlet just off the Southfields roundabout by the Ilminster by-pass on the A303.
A prominent member of South Somerset District Council is stepping down after 20 years of service. Councillor Linda Vijeh, Conservative ward member for Neroche ward, will leave the role at the end of December. Councillor Vijeh is also giving up her role as County Councillor for the Ilminster ward.
