    Pharmacies in Somerset are reporting supply problems with a drug used to treat type-2 diabetes. Fruit growers in Somerset say the wet weather is having a devastating impact on their crops.     Pharmacies in Somerset are reporting supply problems with the drug Ozempic which is used to treat people with type-2 diabetes. Shortages of the drug are blamed on it being used to help people lose weight and not for treating diabetes. 

    Fruit growers in Somerset say the wet weather is having a devastating impact on their crops especially, black currents and cherries. 

    The National Trust is celebrating the return of the Great Crested Newt at three of its properties in South Somerset. Known as “cresties” big numbers of Great Crested Newts can now be found in new pond areas at Montacute House, Tintinhull Gardens and Lytes Cary Manor. 

    Yeovil Town Captain Josh Staunton has been speaking about his hopes for the new season. He says his players have been lifted by Martin Hellier's takeover of the Club and other behind-the-scenes changes at Huish Park.

    The search is on to find someone to take on the role of Poppy Appeal Organiser in Ilminster. The voluntary post, which involves distributing poppies, crosses and wreaths in the Ilminster area, is currently on offer through the Royal British Legion. 

    Entries have opened for this year’s Dowlish Wake and District Flower and Produce Show. The closing date for entries is August 31st with the show being held on Sunday, September 3rd.
