Yeovil Hospital Trust claims the merger will remove barriers to care, achieve better outcomes and provide more personalised services. The plan’s been submitted to NHS England for review, while both Trusts are working together to develop a more detailed business case.
A Langport woman, caught driving while over the drink-drive limit has been banned from driving for three years. Sally Spivey of Portcullis Road, who was appearing at Yeovil Magistrates Court, failed a breath test when stopped by police in Langport last September.

Two men have appeared in court after being charged with conspiracy to steal. Harry Hollowell of Henstridge and Vincent Bruce of Bearley Lane in Yeovil were appearing at Yeovil Magistrates Court. Their next court appearance will be at Taunton Crown Court on August 16th.
A vehicle has caught fire while on the A303 in South Somerset. It happened on the westbound carriageway close to Wincanton at around 6.30 pm Sunday evening. Crews from Wincanton and Gillingham put out the blaze.
