Work to fix roads in Chard destroyed by June’s flash floods will continue for another month. Two roads have been repaired, with a third set to open this week. However, repairs to Combe Lane, Reservoir Road and Holway won't be completed until September. Somerset County Council's spending around £750 thousand pounds on the repairs.

A Yeovil man has been jailed for 7-months after pleading guilty to possessing three knives. Bristol Crown Court was told that Patrick Donegan of East Coker Road was seen acting suspiciously in Pickett Lane in Yeovil last December. When Police arrested Donegan they also found him in possession of a cosh made from a sock containing a metal padlock.

All 16 and 17-year-olds in Somerset should by now have had their first coronavirus vaccine dose or the chance to book a jab. Appointments can be made through a GP or by going to an NHS walk-in centre. In the South West as a whole, more than 30,000 under 18’s have had a first jab already.

Nine former young offenders from Somerset have become rappers and recorded an Extended Play CD with Sony Music. The album tells the stories of their lives and the changes they have made. Recording the CD was made possible thanks to the charity Key 4 Life.

Police are appealing for the return of a tractor stolen in High Ham at Langport. The vehicle, a red Massey Ferguson 135, has the registration PYB 121F.
