The Northern Lights were visible over Somerset last night. The Met Office says the rare sighting was due to the strength of a geomagnetic storm and a cloudless sky over the South West. Local astronomer, Josh Dury, says if the skies stay clear tonight, the Northern Lights could again be visible over Somerset. The organisation is in the process of recruiting to fill dozens of new staff roles to help run the service
