    Police are investigating a break-in at a school in Thorncombe, near Chard. A fire door was reportedly forced open, triggering the intruder alarm, following the break-in at St Mary's Primary School on Chard Road, between 9 am and 9:30 am on Sunday, May 29th. Police are asking anyone with information to call the non-emergency number 101.

    A scheme to help military patients and their families in Somerset is expanding. The NHS in Somerset has teamed up with the Defence Medical Welfare Service charity to support patients at Yeovil Hospital.

    A local football team that raised six thousand pounds to take part in an international soccer tournament fly to Barcelona today. The South West Cerebral Palsy Football team play their first game in the competition tomorrow. 

    A man from Chard has qualified to represent Great Britain with his German Shepherd at a dog training competition in the Czech Republic. Aidan Jackson and his five-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd, Brody, will represent GB at the All-Breed World Championships in September.
