Somerset County Council is encouraging all of us to look out for our neighbours this Christmas. The Council says with Covid still in full slow, the elderly and those living alone could again be left isolated this Christmas as social mixing is not advised. Clare Paul, the member responsible for health and wellbeing at Somerset County Council says a neighbour’s spirits can be lifted by just dropping in a Christmas card or giving them a phone number to call in case they need help. Representatives from Somerset Rivers Authority and Wessex Water will be at the meeting to take questions.
