    An investigation has been launched into an alleged incident during a hunt in South Somerset. A 'warm room' is being set up in Yeovil for people unable to afford to heat their own homes.     An investigation has been launched into an alleged incident during a hunt in South Somerset. Police say they’ve been shown a video of an apparent incident that took place in Charlton Horethorne, near Wincanton, last Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency number 101.

    A 'warm room' is being set up in Yeovil for people who cannot afford to heat their homes. The Huddle in Quedam Shopping Centre will open throughout January and February for pregnant parents, carers, foster parents and their relatives to gather indoors in relative comfort.

    Children at a school near Ilminster have each been given a fleece to wear to help keep them warm while playing outside. Pupils at St Mary and St Peter’s Church School in Ilton helped design a logo on the fleeces for wearing during PE lessons.

    People in Ilminster are being asked to help shape the town’s future. The Town Council has launched a survey asking residents to comment on youth facilities, the West Crescent play-park and to suggest how the former council office building on North Street might be used in the future. The survey is available on the Ilminster Town Council website and is open until Friday, December 9th

    The Mendip Hills AONB says it's seen a big rise in visitors. Figures show the number of people visiting the hills rose by seven percent this year compared to 2019. 

    New members are needed for a panel that sets the allowances paid to members of Somerset County Council. The Independent Remuneration Panel researches the amounts that other authorities make available to elected members, working towards producing a ‘Scheme of Allowances’ for the new Somerset Council. Anyone interested in applying can do so through the Somerset County Council website.
