A consultation has been launched in Somerset into new planning rules on biodiversity that come into force early in the New Year. The government’s Biodiversity Net Gain Planning legislation requires that when land is built nature is left in a better place with developers asked to create new habitats and green spaces to compensate for the ones eliminated when a site is developed.
