Local hospitals are facing another day of disruption as junior doctors continue their strike action over pay. NHS Somerset says it’s focused on ensuring that patients who need emergency care are seen, but that some routine appointments and operations have been postponed. Junior doctors walked out yesterday, and are not expected to return to normal working until 7am on Saturday.
Interactive music classes, aimed at helping new mums experiencing post-natal depression, could be rolled out across Somerset following a pilot held in Wincanton. The free 8-week programme -- called Time Together -- is being run by Somerset Council in partnership with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and uses sensory and creative based music activities to support new mothers.
