Fourteen hundred people have now signed a petition against Somerset Council's plans to scrap free car parks.
St Margaret’s Hospice is set to receive a share of £25 million of government funding to upgrade its facilities. Dorothy House and Children's Hospice South West will each receive part of the funding.
Plans have been passed to build 100 new homes on the southern edge of Chard. The homes, to be built by Summerfield Developments, will form part of the Chard eastern development area, which runs between Tatworth Road and the A30 Crewkerne Road.

Estate agents, Stags, have presented a cheque for £70,000 to four cancer charities. The money was raised by staff members, including those who work at Stags office in Yeovil, through events including beach cleans, moorland walks, and a skydive. The charities to benefit are: Ducks & Drakes in Dorset, SURE in Somerset, FORCE in Devon, and Tanya’s Courage Trust in Cornwall.
