    The Somerset Prostate Support Association says King Charles being treated for an enlarged prostate will encourage other men with symptoms to get checked.

    Two Somerset MPs are among 46 MPs calling for better funding for local councils. Lib Dem MP for Somerton and Frome, Sarah Dyke and Conservative MP for Bridgwater and West Somerset Ian Liddell-Grainger have written to the Prime Minister asking the government to provide councils with better financial support.

    Somerset Council has given permission for 196, Sherborne Road in Yeovil to be turned into a house of multiple occupation. The four-bed property will be reorganised, with four large en suite rooms across the ground and first floors and a further two rooms on the second floor, with residents sharing a kitchen, bathroom and living room area.

    Libraries in Somerset have had 156 coats donated as part of a Winter Coat Exchange. The idea is that people can come and donate, exchange or take a coat as needed. So far, 80 of the coats have found new homes.

    Bird watchers have reported increased sightings of the waxwing bird in Somerset. The waxwing has colourful feathers, a tuft on its head and a black throat, and feeds off berries.

    Yeovil Town are in action tonight. The Glovers, who are thirteen points clear at the top of National League South, are away to Truro City. The game is being played at the Plymouth Parkway ground in Plymouth, kicking off at 7.45 pm.
