Books of Condolence for Queen Elizabeth

Books of condolence in memory of Queen Elizabeth are available for people to sign at various buildings across South Somerset.

South Somerset residents who wish to pay their respects to the Royal Family can do so in a book of condolences at the South Somerset District Council Customer Connect Office at Petters House, Petters Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT. If you wish to sign the book and take a moment to reflect, the office is open from 9 am-4 pm from Monday to Friday.

Elsewhere in Yeovil, there is a book of condolence at St John’s Church Yeovil. The church will be open from 10 am-3 pm Monday to Friday and from 10 am-1 pm on Saturday.

There is also a book of condolence available at the Nationwide Building Society during their normal opening times and at Town House, on Union Street 9 am-4 pm, Monday to Friday.

Please note that the South Somerset District Council Customer Connect office, Town House and Nationwide Building Society will be closed on Monday 19 September, a national Bank Holiday.

In Chard, a book of condolence is available for signing at the Guildhall. Floral tributes can be left at the Guildhall and the Beacon at Crowshute Link.

In Wincanton, a book of condolence has been opened at the Town Hall, as well as the church of St Peter & St Paul’s in the High Street.

In Crewkerne, a book of condolence is open for signing at the tourist information centre in the town hall. Flowers can be left at St Bartholomew's Church and at the Henhayes Community Centre.

If you are unable to travel, you can submit a written tribute for inclusion. Please send these by post to The Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil, BA20 2HT to arrive before 5 pm on Tuesday 20 September.

An ebook of condolences is also available online at the following link: https://www.royal.uk/send-message-condolence

Please be advised that all books of condolence will be closed at 5 pm on Tuesday 20 September, in line with national guidance, and we ask that all tributes are submitted by this time.

Please do share this information within your local communities to ensure that everyone who wishes to express their condolences at this sad time is able to do so.
