Police Cyber Alarm

Businesses in Somerset can now access Police CyberAlarm, a free tool designed to help organisations understand and monitor the threat they face from malicious cyber activity.

Funded by the Government, Police CyberAlarm acts like a ‘CCTV camera’, monitoring the traffic on a businesses’ connection to the Internet.

It detects and provides regular reports of suspected malicious activity, enabling a business to take steps to improve its cyber resilience.

To become a Police CyberAlarm member – which is FREE - a business needs to install the ‘CyberAlarm Virtual Server’ that will collect and process traffic logs, identifying suspicious activity.

The Police CyberAlarm does not see content; it just monitors the logs relating to traffic, to identify suspicious activity. It’s designed to protect personal data, trade secrets, and intellectual property.

It can be of benefit to any business with a computer network, including SMEs, public and private sector organisations, charities, schools and colleges, and local government.

To sign up, Click: Police CyberAlarm

You will receive a unique code that, once added to your website, will provide you with the instructions to install the Police CyberAlarm.
