Residents in the Somerton & Frome constituency have a new MP. Sarah Dyke has claimed the seat for the Liberal Democrats after a by-election was triggered by the resignation of Conservative, David Warburton. Dyke won with a majority of 11,008 and a swing to the Lib Dems of 29%
The prestigious Keep Britain Tidy green flag is being flown at three new locations in south Somerset. Ham Hill Country Park, Yeovil Country Park and Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve have been awarded the flag, whilst Ham Hill also retains its Green Heritage Site Accreditation. The three locations in our area are joined by another 7 across Somerset, and the scheme sets the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the UK.
