The hub, built with several energy efficient features including LED lighting and a heat recovery system, employs 200 people and is designed to make the delivery of replacement aircraft parts to Leonardo’s customers in the UK and around the world more efficient.
According to Somerset Council, more parents are looking to move their children out of private schools and into state schools. The Council says it's had an increase in enquiries since the Labour government announced that VAT of 20 percent will be added to private school fees from January.
A local councillor claims that thousands of new homes across Somerset could be delivered by upgrading waste-water treatment plants. Councillor Henry Hobhouse, who represents Castle Cary on Somerset Council, was commenting on the delay in building 12,000 new homes due to an increased risk of phosphate spillage on the Somerset Levels. Councillor Hobhouse claims Wessex Water upgrading its waste water treatment plants will overcome those concerns and that work to build the 12,000 homes should start. Somerset Council says its awaiting legal advice on the matter.
