Police have dealt with an incident in which a quantity of firearms ammunition was found dumped at Yeovil Recycling Centre. The alarm was raised after the ammunition – some of which was found to be live and capable of being fired - was spotted in a recycling container by a member of staff. Police say the live rounds were taken away and safely disposed of. They've asked that anyone with ammunition to dispose of should take it to a registered arms dealer or surrender it at their nearest police station.

Recycling and rubbish collection days will change from next month in Yeovil and some other parts of South Somerset. A Somerset filmmaker wants to make a TV documentary about the supernatural in the county. He’s now showing his short film on social media in the hope a TV company will take up his idea.
