    Bus workers in Somerset's RMT union are due to go on strike again tomorrow. It’ll be the third 24-hour stoppage by RMT members in their ongoing dispute over pay. First South West claims its offered staff a 17.4% rise over two years but the RMT says the offer is a lot less and has rejected it. Passengers planning to travel by bus in Somerset tomorrow are being asked to check the First South West website for the latest information on which services will be running.

    Liberal Democrats Leader, Ed Davey, says he’s confident his party will win back the so-called Bluewall seats held by the Conservatives in Somerset. One of the seats is Yeovil which the Lib Dems lost to the Conservatives in 2015. Ed Davey says along with the constituencies of Wells, and Somerton and Frome, Yeovil is at the top of their hit list.

    Land in the village of Wayford near Crewkerne has been earmarked for creating a large-scale solar farm. An enquiry has been made about building a solar farm off Dunsham Lane in Wayford. As yet, there’s been no formal planning application made to South Somerset District Council.

    An exhibition of vintage radios is being held in Yeovil this week. It’s to celebrate 100 years of the BBC and features radio sets in use when the BBC first started broadcasting in 1922. The exhibition has been put on by Justine Lindars, the owner of Lindars Radios on Oxford Road on the Penn Mill trading estate in Yeovil.

    The date’s been announced for this year’s Christmas lights switch-on in Yeovil. Hosted by Radio Ninesprings it’s being held in King George Street on Saturday, 19th of November, starting at 4 pm. There’ll be live music from Almost Elton, The Bud Martin Band, and the Yeovilton Military Wife’s Choir, with the switch on the Christmas lights by the Mayor of Yeovil, Councillor Evie Potts-Jones taking place at 6.30 pm.
