An appeal has been launched to help find three men who attacked a man in Yeovil in what's believed to be a case of mistaken identity. The man was walking in Eastland Road on the evening of the 3rd of October when he was confronted by the men. He suffered several knife wounds in the incident. Police say he was mistaken for someone else and when his attackers realized he was not who they thought he was they ran away. Police are keen to trace the three men and also to identify the real intended target, a man believed to be called ‘Jay’. If you can help the Police with their enquiries, you’re asked to call the non-emergency number 101.

Police are investigating a break-in at Yeovil Town’s ground. CCTV footage has identified two men acting suspiciously within Huish Park in the early hours of Wednesday morning at around 2.40 am. The Club have not said if any items were stolen or how much damage was caused. Images of the two men can be viewed on YTFC’s page on X. Meanwhile, former Captain, Josh Staunton has left Yeovil by mutual consent. The Club says Josh, who made over 100 appearances for the Green and Whites, leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Huish Park.

Buses and taxis will start running again through the High Street and Borough in Yeovil town centre from tomorrow. Traffic has been banned from using the High Street while work to re-surface the road and lay new pavement slabs was carried out.

Winsham Primary School near Chard has been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. Inspectors visited the school in November and rated all areas as ‘Good’ including personal development, leadership and management, the quality of education and early years provision. This latest rating marks a major turnaround at Winsham Primary School, after the last Ofsted inspection in 2017 that rated the school as being ‘inadequate’.

A sprig from the Holy Thorn in Glastonbury has been sent to Buckingham Palace to King Charles. The tradition dates from 1929 when one was sent to Queen Mary and King George the 5th. Cuttings are also known to have been sent to both Charles the First and Charles the Second.
