    The NHS is offering spring COVID-19 vaccines to people in Somerset who are at increased risk of serious illness from the virus. They'll be available until 30th June. 

    A new way of making roads safer for children in Somerset has started this week. The project, being tried out in Frome, involves closing roads around four schools at school pick-up and drop-off times, and restricting drivers to 20 mph on other roads. 

    The chair of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, Colin Drummond has announced that he's retiring. Mr Drummond has been the chair of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and its predecessor body since 2014 and will leave his post before the end of the year.

    Haselbury Mill near Crewkerne has been put up for sale. The venue includes a 21-room hotel, pub, restaurant and tithe .barn with seating for 250, and is set in 14 acres of landscaped gardens.

    A Yeovil-based apprentice has been named as a winner in the JTL Regional Awards. Chris Lintern, who completed his Electrical Installation apprenticeship at Spectrum Electrical Group, was recognised for his exceptional achievements. He will now compete against other regional winners for the title of JTL National Apprentice of the Year.
