An investigation is underway after a man was found seriously injured in the Queensway Place area of Yeovil, near Tesco Extra on Sunday night. Avon & Somerset Police say they are keeping an open mind as to whether the injuries are as a result of an accident or due to the actions of someone else. Witnesses or anyone with relevant footage are being asked to call 101 or contact Crimestoppers, quoting ref 5225239540.
Meanwhile a man has been charged with murder following an incident in South Petherton. 43 year old Colin Lawson was found with serious injuries in Holbrook Park on Friday. 49 year old Graham Janes of Pear Tree Drive, Chard is accused of his murder. A post-mortem found Mr Lawson suffered a number of wound injuries.
Yeovil Town Football Club have confirmed that Mark Cooper has been relieved of his duties as First Team Manager. In a statement, the club has thanked Mark for his commitment to the club and paid tribute to his achievements during his three years at Huish Park.
