The two-car taxi rank on Stars Lane is also being replaced with additional spaces within the Stars Lane car park. The taxi rank on Lower Middle Street, near the junction with Central Road and South Western Terrace, is being scrapped and replaced with a loading bay. The ranks on Earle Street, Old Station Road, and South Street are being retained. Somerset Council says the changes will take effect over the coming months but hasn’t decided when the work will start.
