Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident in which a boy was threatened with what’s believed to have been a firearm in Yeovil. It happened when he was approached by two other boys riding e-scooters, who pointed a weapon, in an alleyway leading to Abbey Manor Park at around 9 pm on Sunday, 6th February. Anyone who has video footage of two boys riding e-scooters in the area of Abbey Manor Park on the date in question is asked to call the non-emergency number 101.
Plans to spend twenty-nine million pounds on an extension to Yeovil’s Octagon Theatre have moved a step closer. Yesterday, members of South Somerset District Council’s Executive agreed to provide an additional £6 million to the project. The scheme will see the Octagon’s seating capacity increased to nine hundred, with two boutique cinemas, a studio space, bigger dressing rooms, a new café and restaurant being built. The project still has several more stages to go through before it’s definite and work starts.
