Yeovil MP Marcus Fysh has hit out at the government for not delivering on its promise to lift all lockdown restrictions on June 21st. Speaking in the House of Commons, Mr Fysh said the rise in infections of the Indian or Delta variant was not a reason for panic. He said he did not believe the scientists and claimed the government had lost credibility. He would not be surprised, he said, if people stop following the government’s advice. Mr Fysh fears that delaying the lifting of restrictions has increased the chances of a lockdown by the autumn that would run through the winter and into the spring of next year.
